New trophy competition

Trophy design contest 2026

Announcing… contest to design new Feats stage management award

The time has come to retire the Marcel Huhn/Bruno Boeye Memorial Award for stage management after thirty years of faithful service.

Feats regular Martin Kirk has generously offered to fund a replacement; and Feats is holding a competition to design it. The prize? Two season-tickets to Feats 2026 in The Hague – plus, of course, the infinite satisfaction of knowing your creativity has added to the enduring attraction that is Feats.

It should not be a generic trophy that could be bought off the shelf, but rather something that represents or symbolises the work of those incredible people the audience rarely sees, but whose contribution to a successful show cannot be measured: the stage crew.

FEATS awards 2025

We’re looking for ideas, not detailed designs. A visual representation would help, but if you’re not a great artist, don’t worry. However, the winner will be responsible for getting the physical award made, so will have to find a person or company who can bring the idea to life, to commission the project and to follow through on its execution. A generous budget will be provided.

Other requirements:

  • The trophy must be solid enough to withstand being frequently handled and transported (sometimes in carry-on luggage). Remember, the previous one lasted thirty years!
  • It should have no sharp edges or delicate parts liable to break off.
  • It must stand up! It needs to be visible when placed on the table at the awards ceremony.
  • Weight and dimensions must be reasonable. No absolute limits, but we suggest a maximum of 25 cm high and wide, and a maximum weight of 3 kg.
  • The practice of adding plaques with the winners’ names to trophies has been discontinued. It’s not necessary, therefore, to plan for this.
  • You must provide a cost estimate. Not binding at this stage, but we need to have an idea whether the budget will stretch to it.

Inspired? Please send your suggestions to trophy26@feats.eu by 1 April at the latest. Any questions may be directed to the same address.

Happy designing!
